A beautiful late afternoon Spring walk at the beach today!
We are so fortunate to live in Saltair where our coastline is accessible and open to all.
We experience one of the lowest Spring tide today! The water height was 0.8 m (2.6 ft) according to tide forecast website disclosing large sandy areas.
The high tide today will return to one of the highest of the year at 3.68m (12.1 ft).
What an adventure for crabs, oysters, and sand dollars, almost 3 meters difference of ocean water on top.
Tomorrow and all the last week of April, low tides will peak at 6pm, 7pm, up to 9 pm and then return to early morning following the cycle of the Moon.
Next very low tide is May 2 2017 at 1:28pm, it will be 0.76m (2.6 ft).
Beautiful Sand dollars, quiet, and tranquil waters…
We are proud to be part of a small quaint community nested between Ladysmith and Chemainus. So unique!
Our most popular beach area, with some sandy patches at low tides. Lots of fun with swimming and looking up for wildlife and rocks!
